Default Hatch release Q (1990)

If:

The fuses in the dash all seem to be intact,
The emergency pull wire opens the hatch

BUT all three buttons don't make a click and the hatch doesn't open,

What's the most likely culprit? Hatch solenoid?

Any door panel switches?
If so do they work or make a click back there when pushing?

Here's the setup for my '88.

The Hatch Release Relay is near the large wire bundle just above the Hatch Release Sol.

There are Orn, Brn/Wht and Blk wires comming from the Relay. The Blk wire runs to Sol.

Touch a jumper from the Orn to the Blk wire to apply power to the Sol and open the hatch. If that works test to see if relay is being activated by the switches.

Touch a jumper from the Brn/Wht wire to ground to energize the Relay. If this activates the the Sol, then the Relay & Sol are ok.

Default another question on the hatch

I don't have an answer, but I too have a malfunctioning hatch. I haven't messed with it yet (working on other stuff), but how can I manually release the hatch? And where is the release solanoid located? I'm restoring an 86 and the hatch is on my list, right after I finish with that cluster. Thanks much.

If you pull the plastic piece along the back of the hatch that surrounds the latch you should see the release sol.
