Can't help you with reaching the driver's side plugs, but I used the Bosch Platinum +4's and so far so good....however, I have read where a lot of people say stick with what the General put in them from the factory.
I have used AC Delco Rapidfires in every high perfomance engine I have owned, and never had any problems. That's what'll be going in my new LT1.
I know there are other plugs out there just as good, but Delcos are my preference.
The only plug I have ever had problems out of was a Bosch Platinum. The Bosch Platinums have a very small tip sunk into the ceramic insulation, and it doesn't take anything to foul one out. They probably work well in brand new engines, but don't put them in anything with high mileage.
I use the TR55IX from NGK and they work fine. I made a plug wrench from an extra 9/16 box end wrench and welding a short socket to it. Works great on good ole #8.
Oh, some guys have reported that the AC Delco plats sometimes lose their pucks causing a huge gap and rough idle.

What about the Autolite double platinums that are clones of the stock AC double platinum plugs? Anyone running those? I think they're Autolite APP106 ?
I put 40,000 on AC Delco Platinums and replaced with NGK Tr55 IX. The Delcos looked near new with no missing pucks. This car has never stumbled due to ignition. I hammer it occasionally. The NGKs may idle a little bit smoother but performance is the same. They make plasma not just a spark. (That's what the ad said.......)
$60 for the last plugs I'll ever buy for it isn't bad.
