A transgo shift kit is for autos and it firms the shift points gives better flow and seat of your pants feeling. They only run about $130 or so and can be put together with hand tools at home. They have a video that comes with it.

No your car is on the money.

A Lt4 intake is alittle more into work but it can be done but its not a cost effective mod right now with a stock engine. Ill make it simple here is a beginner list:CHEAP

INTAKE SIDE
K&N filter $50-60 1-3hp gain upperend
Cut air lid $60 1-3hp gain upperend
Ported MAF ends $70 8-10hp gain all around
Airfoil $40 5-10hp gain upperend

EXHAUST SIDE
Corse,Borla, Magnaflow catback $300-1300 15-30hp all around
Xpipe $120 installed 5-10tq all around
Magnaflow HIflow cats $140 pair 5-10 all around
LT Header $700ish 25-30hp all around

ENGINE SIDE
1.6 Rockers $150-300 10hp all around

You can buy the ported Maf ends from fasttoys. I dont support it but you can also take the screens outta the MAF for more airflow.

Pulleys $200+ 10hp all around
Not a bad list but I wanted to add some info.

INTAKE SIDE
K&N filter $50-60 1-3hp gain (some have seen gains when compared to a dirty stock filter, others see nothing)
Cut air lid $60 1-3hp gain (save your money, can be done for free cutting stock lid)
License Ram Air $500 ??? (Havn't seen info, maybe the only one that really works though)
Ported MAF ends $70 8-10hp gain all around (Does help, Removing screen highly debated, do a search)
Airfoil $40 5-10hp gain (no gain, maybe with serious mods 1hp)
Larger TB $150 Will help with high hp engines and later mods(Stock Throttle Body can be bored and rebuilt to a 52mm or 58mm)

EXHAUST SIDE
Corse,Borla, Magnaflow catback $300-1300 (corsa sounds the best if you don't like resonance but is very expensive, muffler elim can be done for under $75 at a local muffler shop and flows better)
Xpipe $120 installed 5-10tq all around
Magnaflow HIflow cats $140 pair (5-10 all around, or if no testing in your area no cats can gain another 5 or 10hp)
LT Header $700ish (25-30hp all around, very good mod, install and parts will probably cost closer to $1600)

ENGINE SIDE
1.6 Rockers $150-300 10hp all around
Electric pump $200-400 8-10hp all around
Pulleys $200+ 8-10hp all around
Heads and Cam Not Cheap (Best mod, can gain 75-100hp with complimenting mods)
383 or 396 rebuild Not cheap Much better Torque(less costly if you do it yourself, do it all forged)

POWER ADDERS
Nitrous $500 Just for kit 150hp max on stock engine (The saftey extras and labor for install can run it up to $1700, refills are around $42)
Supercharger $5-6k 125-150hp+(Not sure on labor, but not cheap)
TurboCharger ??? ???(There are a couple of companies developing these now for late model C4's, have to wait and see)

If anyone would like to comment further please do. Some of this stuff can be bought on ebay if you like to chance it. For example, I bought my K&N airfilter for under $30 new off ebay and my airfoil was under $10. So even if they don't work all that well I didn't loose much. Also check the for sale section often. The forum is like having a personal mechanic on your side. Whenever you have questions search first. If you can not find the answer there are always people willing to help.

Where The Air Foil Goes There Is A Top That You Have To Take Off, On The Top There Is Like A Plastic Or Rubber Gasket Thing That When I Installed The Foil The Rubber Thing Got All Busted Up. Will This Create Problems And If So Should I Change It And Put A New On On? Any One Know Whats It Called Or How I Can Get One ? Thanks Guys....

It can be bought as part of a gasket kit from the dealership and maybe a few other places. Mine tore also over a year ago. I forgot about it. I'm sure it has a purpose and should be replaced. It seems to be running just fine though.

A dyno test will tell us what condition your vette is in by hp and tq#s also tells if car is running rich or lean. Then go from there.( Phase1 ) Headers and exhaust. (Phase2) Gears and stall converter. (Phase3 ) Rebuild bottom end with 383 or 396 heads and cam. You could do just heads and cam but your getting up there on miles to be adding big hp to your bottom end. Most of the little gimmicks that Ecklers or Midamirica will try to sell you do squat. This forum knows all when it comes to vettes. Welcome aboard. This is where you will benifit from our mistakes.
