cutting on engine mounts? (custom stuff)

cutting on engine mounts? (custom stuff)
Have any of you guys who went all out on your builds ever had to cut any of the engine mounts for any sort of clearence problems on anything?
Maybe just a little grinding?
This turbo kit I have is causing some issues on fitment. it fit an 87, but it wont fit my 90 with AFR heads for some reason.
I may need to do some cutting/notching/grinding on the actual metal that is part of the frame. is this safe to do cutting back a little?
the turbos also hit on the hood when mocked into place.
Are the AFR heads causing the manifolds to sit higher, or is my L-98 actually higher?
Any ideas on how to lower the engine? lol
