Default right headlight problem

My right headlight motor stopped working, the left works fine. It worked fine until I went through some heavy rain and how it doesn't work.
Can some tell me which wire is the hot and which is the ground at the connector just down from the light?
Also, I have got some exposed wire; could it have grounded to the hood and fried the motor?

There is no designated ground wire for the headlight motor. Each motor has 2 wires which go to the motor actuator module. The module reverses the voltage to the motor, to open or close it. The module has its own ground and power inputs.

The headlight switch controls the module and since the left headlight is working it is getting the signal to operate. The right motor is probably OK, it is very rugged and probably not bad.

The module could be bad that drives the right motor. But before you go into left field, check the fuse for the right hand motor. Fuse #4, 30 amps. A bad fuse will cause this problem.

If the fuses are OK, see if you can interchange the left and right motor connectors on the module. If the right hand motor works, the module or wiring is defective. The wire color for the right hand motor is blue at the module, and green for the left.

Also check for any loose connections or broken wires. If a wire touched the hood which is fiberglass, it will do nothing since it is an insulator. But if this wire did ground out, it theoretically could short out the control module, probably not though.

The wire is cooked pretty good in one spot, so I think it fried the motor. Does anybody know where I can pic one up cheap?

Test the motor before you take the journey to find one. Disconnect the motor so that both wires are loose. Then put 12 volts to the motor momentarily and see if it does anything. Then reverse polarity and see if it drives the other direction. This will assure you if the motor is good or bad.

If you need to get a motor, I know a person in Mims on the coast with used vette parts. If you need the number and info, let me know.

I have the same problem with my 92. I've checked the motor and it works on the driver side but not on the passenger. Where's the fuse in a 92?

The fuse is located right in front of the battery, on the fender well.
