Leaking water pump?
Just wondering what the chances are that my water pump is leaking, it sounds like the thing is making noise like its old, and also im having a problem with collant loss, but thats another thread
Just wondering if anyone knows if the water pumps on the 91 L98 ever leak or if its a very rare problem, also how hard are they to replace?
I would jack the car up and look at the weep hole and check for coolant stains. It's a easy job for some and hard for others. Bring it down here and I will do it for $150

also what are the signs of a blown head gasket? no smoke out of the exhaust but that coolant is going somewhere just trying to cover all the bases, this problem is driving me mad
be careful what pump you replace the original pump with. some aftermarket ones don't clear the pulley.
The pumps go bad somewhere between 65 and 80 thousand miles.
You have to just start at the front and go in, then clean what you can, and assemble as you back out. figure 3 hours, 5 if you are learning.
make sure the water pump is a reverse rotation water pump, and make sure it has a drilled and tapped boss on the top of it. (usually insures it's application specific)
