Default Help - Oil Pump Assembly installation???

I'm putting together my new 383 but have a question. Precision engine included a full engine rebuild gasket set for me. I'm just not sure where a couple things go.

The oil pump assembly gaskets look like this

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I don't know where they go?

I can match the one 2nd and 4th from the left, but I don't know where the other two go? (the rubber ring, and the less perfect circle.) Does anyone have any idea?

None of those gaskets have anything to do with the oil pump itself as it requires no gaskets. The gaskets that you are refering too are for the oil filter adaptor depending on the specific configuration of your setup (ie, oil cooler adaptor, offset oil filter adaptor, etc). Hope this helps!

well yeah i know...sorry for not describing it better.

I fugured out the most round gasket goes above the oil filter adapter, as well as the thicker squared round ring.

But there's no other place for gaskets that I can tell? and I still have two remaining???

Like I said, it depends upon the specific application. In an LT1, the engine is equiped with an offset oil filter adaptor, which requires certain gaskets. In an L98 with the factory oil cooler, it requires different gaskets. In other words, there will be unused gaskets as the kit came with gaskets for all possibilities. Unless this is an LT1/L98 hybrid.
