All the problems I was Having with my 86 coupe Idleing correctly I took a brake and started on the interior...When I pulled the dash i found Two broken vaccume hoses So I thought NFW I ran new lines and started the car...No Hunting Idle I would have never found this if I wasnt redoing the interior..Also just a side note the mass back carpet from Wilcox is WONDERFUL!!! a little trimming is needed but the fitment is great..Will post pics of the interior soon
How far in to the dash did you have to go to get at the HVAC vacuum lines. Mine broke off at the engine side of the firewall. Not looking forward to this job either. Did you use the moldable hard line or normal soft line for the replacement? Any pics?
I removed the dash to change it..looking at the defroster vent on the left side I noticed a white vac hose broken...On further inspection the red one below it was also broken..The white one is'nt bad to replace..But the Red one What Were They Thinking!!After some yoga moves I finally got it replaced..I used 1/8 rubber/flexable whatever lines..Yes they both went to the vacuum block..I would have never found it or thought to look up there...From looking at the block they all looked attached..
I thought I read somebody having an issue with outer diameter of standard vacuum line fitting through the firewall. You could drill out, or maybe find some nylon line to run through and not have the brittleness or hard plastic.
