I am planning to install new injectors in my warmed over 360 (cam, heads, rockers, rods, pistons), I was planning to use Accel 24# units . Will they work well on my stock induction system? I did a site search and found very conflicting information and opinion. thanks Jeffie :chevy :flag
By the way my engine will be equipped with Edelbrock performer heads, Crane 2040 cam, roller rockers, 10-1 pistons, but I do not have any dyno to check it on. Jeffie :chevy
OK so I don't need to install an AFPR. Now what about the Accel injectors being rated at 24# at 36psi? isn't the stock system set to a higher pressure than that and how will it affect my tuning? Jeffie :smash:
I have the Accel 24# injectors on my 89, and they're working quite well, but you might consider using the Rochesters instead. A local speed shop here in Sacramento prefers them over the Accels and the Lucas injectors, and they're only $6 or so more per unit than the Accels.
I don't remember why they preferred them, because my brother was the one who found out and told me about it *after* I had already purchased and installed the Accels.
I believe I will be going with the 24# Accel units just because they are available from Summit and I have been doing a lot of business with them lately. Thanks to Eveybody for their help. I want to get the car together as soon as possible but my buddy wants to polish every bolt and take 6 months to do it, hopefully we will come to a happy medium. Jeffie
