when tracing out a wire my diagram is saying its coming from my power train control module d4 is that my ecm brain? /

That is correct, D4 indicates which of the 4 connectors and which pin the wire connects to. You will get better response and information if you provide the year or fill out your profile.

its a 88 but the motor is a custom built 540hp350 and my mass air flow and injectors are run by a adjustable computer that piggybacks into my stock computer, so i dont know if that makes a dii. plus im running msd
