Default convert to lt1?

Well I have talked to my engine guy finally and we have decided to take the engine and make it a 383 but he is not a big fuel injection guy and doesnt know about what to do about the intake. I have heard so many things about tpi being crap and since I am doing a major rebuild I should do something else. I am thinking lt1 for my budget. Is it that hard to convert to lt1(Can it use same wiring harness, injectors, throttle body, etc.) or will it take a lot of extras and not really make a huge difference from tpi for the price? let me know what you think.

ps My engine guy said he has a set of 492 cylinder heads. He's not sure but would those heads take an lt1 and/or a tpi intake.

again thank you for your input

No. The LT1 takes a special "reverse flow" head. Their not even interchangeable with L98's. TrickFlow makes a nice aftermarket LT1 head

I would not convert to a LT1 engine. Too much trouble for what you get. If you want to go to trouble then convert to a LS1. Better ignition and heads. You can have a LT1 intake converted to work with your motor. Might have to do a search to see what is involved with that. Just my opinion.

He's asking about the intake not heads or an engine.
