Electric Power Steering

I saw an add for aftermarket electric power steering units.

Has anyone put an electric power steering unit on a C4?

have a link to it? is it an elec. hydraulic pump?
my wife`s 05 Equinox has EPS... its an electric motor geared to the steering column. has a plain manual steering rack...

i`ve always wondered if this setup could be adapted to a Vette...

I have electric power steering on my Cobalt, and it really takes away from the feel of the road. I wouldn't want it on my Vette.

if the pump were to only come on at speeds below 10 mph it would be pretty cool. you dont really need power assist above these speeds specially in a drag car.

Don't C5's and C6's have EPS? I could be thinking of other GM cars.

Toyota has EPS in the new Rav4.
From what I remember driving one, it had excellent road feel.

the Equinox has decent road feel too. i`m sure road feel could be imporved by simply reducing assist levels for sporty models.

Im not sure it would be a good mod, electric steering tends to want to "self centre" all the time, the Holden Commodore (Chevy SS) has it, under normal driving it tries to hold the steering wheel in the centre, which is noticeable when you are on a road with a bit of camber one way or the other, at speed tho this feeling goes away.
