Default 383 build

Alright I am getting ready to build a 383 out of my 1986 l98 350. I dont too much money but I have some connections as far as engine builders and stuff. I just have a few questions.

1. What way do you guys prefer to build the 383, with crank, bore, or both.

2. What heads do you recommend that I could get for cheap(<$500 or $600). Right now I have access to 492 heads which where great way back when but how will those perform.

3. I have a 224/224 cam I plan on getting and putting in but will 1.6 rockers be necessary?

4.Finally I cant really afford a nice intake but I am thinking of getting one of those converted lt1 intakes to bolt on.

Let me know what you guys think and remember I cant afford a monster engine, just something faster and stronger.

383 needs to be done with both increases in bore and stroke typicaly 3.75 crank and 4.030 pistons with the proper pin center distance for the rods. money can be saved through cast crank and hypertenutic pistons. also by reusing the stock rods (depending on age or desired power level)

This is how I built my 383. I don't race the car, just wanted a bit more go. Go to ebay and check out a seller called racersoutlet. I bought my crank, pistons, flexplate, and balancer all from them. Good people with good prices. I am using the 128 aluminum heads from an 86. My cam is 218/218 with 1.6 roller rockers. The engine is too new to really stand on it but it has got a load more power than the 350 did.
