Methods to dimple headers?

Never had to do it...Large 1" socket on its side and a BFH?

What do you guys use...I only get one shot at this, dont want to ruin these things...

Best way that I've found to do it is to heat the area up for the dimple, then take the ball end of a ballpeen hammer and dimple as necessary.
Heating reduces the effect of the dimple to the other parts of whatever.
A nice dull red is the heat range you're looking for.

I work in a shop where we have to do all sorts of strange fabrication request. If I had to, this is how I would dimple it.
There may be a more professional way, but this will work.....

Passenger side flange is warped like a ****, no wonder they needed dimpling. And I was just about to declare hammertime. Too bad, only pair they had in stock of any header that fits....I swear to God....
