Code C72 - "LCD Dimming Open"
Can someone look it up in their service manuals and tell me what it means? Sure would appreciate it....

Does it flash SYS on the LCD screen?
Do you have C68 A/C??
It will only set that code if the dimmer is set on a setting thats not 0% or 100%, if anything controlled by the dimmer isnt dimming when you have headlights on (ignition on as well) and adjust the dimmer, id start with checking that. If youve got an aftermarket radio in there, id start right there.
Then id quickly follow that up by getting a GM service manual and turning Book 1 to pages 8D-72 and 8D-73

The car does have some electrical issues. The fob will not program into the car. The horn fuse blows immediately when replaced. I suspect the horn issue is related to the fob not programming properly. Haven't had time to troubleshoot that yet.
Was wondering what the service manual said about "LCD Dimming Open." That's the code I get when I check the cars brain...
Any help you can provide is appreciated.

Youve had the horn fuse issue for ages, it needs to be fixed or your car is not road worthy.
The help ill offer you is go and get a GM Service manual, youll need it. I dont have a scanner and cant post the pages you need. I really cant do any more than that for you until you have the manual open to the pages ive given you.

Yes, I've had the horn issue for quite some time now. I'll do as you suggest and look for a ground issue or a wire shorting out somewhere. thanks for the help...
