Hi everyone,
Well it looks like the water pump on my 1990 L98 is ready to take a dump, I think it is leaking and I can smell antifreeze. My question is, has any one used an Edelbrock, Kool Flow, or Stewart water pump. My car is stock, and will be staying that way for a while. Having said that, I would like the advantage of a better that stock water pump pushing water thru my engine, plus they are all new, vs rebuilt.
Any insight or experience will be welcomed. Thanks in advance for your help.
I put a Stewart pump on my 87 L98. Stewart claims more gph than the Edelbrock. I bought it when my GM pump leaked to facilitate lower temps in summer. It works! $104 to my doorstep.
What about FlowKooler?
I'm thinking to change the stock waterpump on my new 396.
I tought also an electric meziere water pump.... but my car is a L98 and I haven't found examples of electric Water Pumps on L98..
The FlowKooler site sdvertise 30% more flow only up to a certain rpm (3000 if I remember..), restoring the flow level as stock, over 3,000 rpm. It seems good to me.
Opinions?
