I would atleast replace center resonator with a x pipe. You could also replace rear mufflers with higher flowing ones. Just my opinion as others here know alot more than me.
Hello. What minimum exhaust pipe diameter is o kay for 377 supercharged LT-1 550 hp ?
that much power the stock exhaust pipe size is to small ,you need a duel 3 inch exhaust with hi flow cats if you got to have them ,i run my car with duel 3 inch and no cats just flowmasters 3 chamber delta flows and i just got the custom exhaust made with mandrel bends it sounds sweet ,and i think aks was talking about header tubing size
Yes, you definitely want a true dual exhaust! Biggest restriction is the cats; bolt up a couple 3" Random or Carsound parts directly to the3" header collector. Then a nice X-pipe right after the cats- make a great place for a forward hanger too.
Next most restrictive is the muffler; you do not want chambered or anything else that makes exhaust gasses do 180 degree acrobatics. I personally used 2-3/4" pipes- as they were easier to fit and still completely outflow the 3" cats. If you get too big, velocity goes away and can hurt low end torque- especially as the gases cool travelling down a long pipe.
