I have a 95 C4 Auto with 37K mi. lately the ign. key at time's will not turn to the lock pos. making it impossible to remove the key, after turning it on and off numerous time's it finally goe's to lock. Anybody out there have any idea's! I would greatly appreciate the help in correcting this problem. I've tried moving steering wheel, shifting the gearshift to make sure it is all the way in park, dropped colum to ck. any obstructions in rod going to ign. sw. removed electrical switch from collum took it apart no problems there. every thig points to key switch itself but I have never replaced one of those so I don't know whats entailed in doing that.

Reason: Problem Found
there is no lock button, at least there wasn't one on my '95....
before condeming the ignion switch, get another key made and see if that helps....(you did not mention if you have a spare key or not, and it seems like many C4 owners only have 1 key for some reason)
Thanks for responding ! I think I've found the culprit the button on the shifter sticks somtime's causing the ignition lock not to go to lock position, now all I have to do is figure out how to get the boot off to access the base of the shifter, any input will be appreciated -RC
