I don't think the the brands have to match. I finally solved my problem. I think that my original right O2 sensor never worked. Replaced it with a Dodge sensor and all is fine now. Just have to blow the carbon out from running so rich.
Great. I am going to replace the sensor and the plugs to ensure a fresh start. I also putting a meter to all the wiring and checking for problems, using my little helper to move the wires around to simulate movement within the engine bay etc.
The thing with the sensors is that I have a DELPHI, which is a AC/DELCO part. I couldnt find the DELPHIs, so I looked for AC/DELCO.
I can appreciatte matching parts....I don't think the ECM is intelliegent enough to recognize what brand it is using A three wire should just be a 3 wire, or whatever configuration (have used other mfgs. and no change in scans etc.)..mine is a 3 wire for some other model (I forget now, I just save the PN.)and not a corvette, the one I have for the LM-1 was listed as an import.
The one thing I did forget to mention was, I noticed on mine that the barb on the pins in the weather pack can move back as you are connecting the w.pack. I push each wire into the connecter after the weather pack is connected to assure a good connection.

Good point on the connector pins. I went in a lightly crimped the female side so they would be tight, and after I pushed it in I pushed the wires up into it to see if they could go any further. But you never know, it may have simply loosened up. In all respects we shouldn't have to do this, it should be plug and play.
