Default contol arms

Does anyone know if the Rear control arms (upper and lower) are the same for C4's from the years 1989-to-1996? And the rear spindle (strut) rods?

I looking to replace '89 worn-out rubber bushings with new and realize I'd have to buy the contol arms etc. as the only other option is poly bushings. However, I'd like to keep the car legal for SCCA A-stock autocross and anything other than rubber bushings is illegal.

Thanks,

My Contemporary Corvette lists the same rear strut rod P/N for '84-'96 Vette.

You should be able to get them from your local Chevy dealer or maybe even a local AC Delco dealer; should only run about $6-$10 for a set of 4.

I think we are talking about different parts. The rear spindle (strut) rod, that I'm more than likely calling by the wrong name, goes from the hub to the camber bolt. The arm that holds the rear wheel camber in check.

Sorry about the confusion.

I call it the camber arm. Or lower control arm (where the front two are dogbones). GM calls it the wheel spindle rod.

Strut rod is the one in back that adjusts toe-in.

It's GM 10098132 and 10098131 bushing comes with it. I seriously doubt any new ones exist, so I'd guess based on that the SCCA would have to let you use the poly.

Interesting though, GM says (when using on 89 and prior, the bushing is not required and may be discared.)

This makes no sense as my 85 uses a bushing there.

Try this p/n though, see what it is. It's unclear looking at the parts manual. 15060166 (or 15060168? can't read the last digit). It's called the wheel spindle rod bushing, mounts on the inboard side of the rod.

Thanks for the clarification on what is called what. Dogbones and camber arm keep it simple and hard to make a mistake.

Where did you find or see this:
