Being that you have an automatic, I would first check the tranny mount. If it's stock and it's similar to the one's they use on f-bodies, check to see if the rubber split. This happed to my 91 T/A. I changed it and cured the problem.

Yes check all mounts (engine and trans) but a more common problem is a sticking or worn u-joint or half shaft joint , the best way to inspect them is removal , just because they are not lose doesn't mean they are not bad.
