Default What muffler is better?

So i'm going to be upgrading the exhaust on my 95 lt1 very soon, and i can't decide on whether i should go with the corvette central magnaflows or a pair of dynomax super turbos. I'm going to run hooker super comp LT headers & 3" catless pipes. What mufflers will give the best sound and performance?

Can't help with the two mufflers you listed, but with my '95 with Hooker 2151's and no cats, I can tell you that...

a. Flowmaster 40's sound way more aggressive than stock, but I did get a hint of resonance.

b. Muffler eliminators cost less (had mine done my a muffler shop for $80), and aren't much louder than stock until you get on it. Sounds great at WOT, *may* give a few hp (some see it, some don't), and drops close to 30 lbs off the car.

Default mufflers

My 87 has the Hooker Super Comps with 2 1/2" pipes no cats thru 50 series flowmasters.....I'm told that it has a very unique sound...I have only heard it from the drivers seat....so I can't say much about the sound except that theres no way to sneak in after hours...if you know what I mean

I recommend Magnaflows and for the best price go to www.performancepeddler.com Do not pay the advertised price, call them & tell them you are a CF member ... you should be able to get them for less than $350 shipped. IMO, you can't beat the quality for the price...and they sound real good!

Corsa makes a good system for the LT1, I have also heard that leaving the cats on to muffle the sound some, then going back without mufflers is a good alternative. I haven't decided what to do, keep us posted...

It's really a matter of personal preference and the sound you are after.

I personally like Borla, Magnaflow and Corsa. Not a big fan of the Flowmaster sound. Borla and Magnaflow have a similar sound, the Borla seems deeper to me. The Corsa in a unique sound that is great.

Performance will be about the same, you will have resonance with just about any 3" system. I have manifolds/cats/dual 3's with 2 bullet resonators(dynomax) and 2 dynomax superturbos and STILL get some drone. Its not bad at all compared to the dronemasters but it is present.

There is no answer to your question.
All you'll get is personal opinion.
The appeal of different mufflers is an individual thing.
Some guys like brand X, some like brand Y.
Myself, I like brand Z.
