85 Wiper Motor - Removal?

Removed Cowl Screen and loosend bolt on drive linkage.
Removed I think three bolts that held the motor on the firewall.
Pulled up and wiggled which allowed me to disconnect the wires.
The motor sticks further down than you would think.
EDIT: If R&R it might be a good idea to mark the relative location of the linkage to the motor shaft.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I serviced mine. Do get a couple of extensions, they help a lot with reach!! Also, have a magnetic pickup handy, I can't tell you how many times loose nuts/screws pops off and rolls around to who knows where.
Good luck!

The tricky part is pulling the wiper motor out without removing everything else. I had to remove the plastic cover first, and even then it was a tight fit, the motor kind of sticks down in there.
- Remove the driver side leaf screen
- Remove the bolt connecting the motor shaft to the linkage
- Remove the top wire connections (one in the cover, the other on the side)
- Remove the three mounting bolts... get an extension and a universal... 10mm socket
- Pull the motor out, down, then wiggle it around a little bit. I found it helpful to gently apply pressure to the motor shaft from near the linkage while pulling down and towards the passenger side
It'll take a few minutes, but you should get it.
