price ?
A guy is selling me his dana 44 with 3:45 gears and is going to charge me $1,650 for parts and labor is that a good deal.

If you are keeping your old parts and everything is in good shape with turnkey labor I would offer him $1400.

If you're swapping from a D36 and it's a low-mileage unit that is a very reasonable price. The parts alone usually go for that much.

If he's selling it to you and swapping it in for you at that price, then yes, it's a great deal.
Most D44's will sell between $1200-$2000 depending.
Usually you get the carrier, cover, driveline support and driveshaft.

yes i am getting the carrier, cover, driveline support and driveshaft, and the labor is tacking off my diff. and installing the new one.the labor is $450

he doesnt like to keep the original parts so he will give them back to me
