Default Winter Storage Question

I plan on storing my Vette in a carbag this winter. I plan on doing the following:
-Filling my tires to 40lbs parked on tire cradles
-Full tank of gas
-Lots of Irish spring soap/bounce sheets etc to help against mice
-Dry packs
-Use car cover
-Mouse traps
-Plug exhaust with steel wool pads

My question is should I use a gas stabilizer?

I've heard pro's and con's on the subject, such that the stabilizer could damage your injector's. I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on this.

Also, if I missed any storage tips, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!!

Default Re: Winter Storage Question (USPRIDE)

I remember from long ago a storage tip that had you remove the spark plugs and put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder. That was a long time ago and may not still apply.

I would add:

Change of engine oil.

Putting it up on jack stands so the tires do not get a flat spot is helpful.

Removing the battery and putting it on a trickle charger.

Giving the leather a nice lather of conditioner will keep it nice.

I still think that starting it up and driving it until hot every couple of weeks is better than letting it sit for a few months. :yesnod:

I'm sure there are others I am forgetting.
