Somebody clue me in here. For $35 you get the controller and the light? That sounds damn cheap!

That is my understanding...

I would have bought one myself, but a friend use to work at Auto Meter and made me a custom one

It is. Compare it with an equivalent Autometer. You have to buy different "pills" for them when you want to change the activation point and their leds are an extra cost item...

I'm very happy with mine.

Been waiting for mine for almost 8 weeks. Not exactly timely in the delivery...had a FedEx package sent to the house but I was not able to be there or go by the FedEx location before they sent it back. I sure hope it was not my shift light...

Mine works great.

The night before I was to use it at the track for the first time I was testing it, well I left it set at 3000 rpm's and left the paperwork at home. Couldn't use it that day.

I just placed an order for mine, wonder when I'll actually see it though based on what I've read so far.....

I'm wondering, where are people mounting theirs? I saw the writeup that the C5 guy did where he put it in his center AC vents, how do C4's lend themselves to mounting locations, hidden or otherwise?

Thanks,
Sam

I plan on installing it in the AC vent to the right of the steering wheel. Someone posted the instructions and so forth for that location and it is a "dead" vent anyway so you would not affect anything. You can also close or open the vent to modify the intensity of the light. They are BRIGHT! Thumper has his installed in this location too.

What do you mean "dead vent"? I seem to recall air coming out of mine, is there a difference in model years?

The very far left side of that vent is what I am refering to as "dead". The first 2-3" are blocked off from the air.

I didn't know that, but since you do, how hard is it to access that area? Do I have to remove the entire front of the dash there, or can I just pull out the screws on either sides of the vents and pop that section off?

Thanks,
Sam

Yup, that is the write up I have seen. Sam, you can access the area just by removing the two screws on the vent itself.
