I'm not sure if this is the place for this or not, so if the mods want to move it's OK.
I am looking for the plans to build a 12 ton shop press. Anybody have a set (pdf format would be great) or knows where I can download a set. Or does someone have a press that they can take the measurements so I can build one?
Just bought a 12 ton press from Harbor Freight on sale now for $74. It is the taller "A" Frame model so has lots of working room. I don't think you can build one for that money. I bought it to use in bushing replacement.
Got mine atHF.About 100 bux. Works great. Price was right.
Helps China have a better economy than us, I mean, U.S..
WEll, maybe the last part isn't a plus for HF stuff.

I don't know where else they'd put it. Repeated requests by many here for a shop and tools section have thus far fallen on deaf ears, even in that joke they call the steering commitee.
A shop press is on my list of needed shop equipment, right after a drill press for which I'm currently shopping.

Hey Chris, I just wasn't sure it was the right place. I couldn't figure any other place was better.
As far as the shop press, I figure that right now I have access to the equipment at school, but I am going to retire in a couple of years and I don't want to be without one. The drill press I have, in my woodworking shop (second job, shop in the back yard), so I am starting to accumulate the other mechanics tools I'll need.

Does it have a big enough opening to press the spindle out of the upper control arm? I spent 3 hours last night using a ball joint press to take the ball joint and bushings out of the lower control arm and I realized I need to get a press.
