Best 96 brake pad replacement ???
Time for a front pad replacement. Have new Stock rotors.
Which, in your opinion, is the best pad for heavy/daily street use with the occasional trip to the track???? (gotta be squeekless!!)

Stay away from the PEFORMANCE FRICTION line. They squeel like stuck pigs and are as dusty as my grandmothers' underwear. Stick with the stock pads from the General.

hawk hps street pads are my fav, no noise awesome stopping, they work with a glowing red rotor but at the same time are not too spendy & last quite awhile, i've tried about every pad made on various cars...no one can turn me from the hawks for dual purpose...awesome pad

Shep: Any problems installing those ceramics? Anything different from a standard set of pads? Thanks in advance

Re: Best 96 brake pad replacement ??? (ivan)
I've been using PFC Z-rated pads for 4 years and never had a problem with squeeling. They dust a bit more than the stock pads, but they work great for street/track use.

Don't the 13" rotors require different pads? I have the J55 brakes.

Re: Best 96 brake pad replacement ??? (tommelton)
OK, I'm confused. I'm in the process of accumulating part to upgrade to GS Brakes.
According to Jeff Kopp Web Pages, there are separate part numbers for J55 and GS calipers. I understand the cosmetic difference in the GS but there are also separate part numbers for the respective pads.
Looks like rotors are all the same.
Which way is it:confused:
