Default wiring in a rear view mirror

I just got a lighted rear view mirror for my 84. I did not have the rear view mirror lights before i got this one so i am going to have to wire it myself. Does anyone know which wire is which coming out of the rear view mirror. I am guessing one is for the running lights, one is for the switch and the other is the ground just not sure which one is which. I want to try and wire the running lights to connect somehow so they only turn on when my doors open if that is possible. Any ideas???

i did the same on my 1986. i found, under the trim plate inside the car, along the top of the windshield, was that my car was already prewired for this. i simply took my old mirror off, and plugged the lighted mirror into the plug already in the car. my was simple plug in. check it out.
