Unhooked the ground from the battery, no diff, pushed all the yellow relase buttons, no diff.
NO that shuts it off. I will pull the hardtop today and see what's up. to tired last night to mess with it. sounds like the solinods just keep fireing. good thing i found it or the battery would be dead and the solinoids toast.
Ok, I took the hardtop off opend the rear hatch, closed it. tried all the release buttons, shut it, worked normally. 5 minutes latter while I'm cleaning up, chick, click, click,
hasn't anybody had problems with their hatch release solinoids going bezerk?
He lives somewhere around Seattle. It seems rainwater had built up in the rain trough of the Convertible Storage Compartment Lid from the drain holes being plugged up. The water was completing the Lid Release circuit.
Disconnect battery. Unplug wiring to the solenoid and to let dry (re-connect battery). Check drain holes in the corners of trough. Clean thoroughly. Make sure water drains out quickly. Reconnect plug to check operation.
The circuit can be completed if water has gotten inside any of the Release buttons, also.
Yep, all wet. about 1 cup of water in the depression and the wire conectors all wet. drain holes looked ok though. I'll double check them before putting the carpet back.
