Default NCOA worthwhile?

Is the National Corvette Owners Accociation legit? I mean, is it worthwhile to join? They offer the newsletter, a free book, some parts and service discounts, insurance, so on and so on.

It seem there are a lot of so called clubs for enthusiasts that want nothing but the yearly dues, or more. Take for instance the Handyman Magazine club. I'm sorry if there are any of you as a 'lifetime member' of this club, and I don't mean to insult, but this organization is nothing more than money. The mag is 90% ads and they constantly hound for lifetime membership. Hell, they even send you the patch and other garbage before you join. It's a rip.

I would like to think the NCOA is a membership I could gain information and actually take advantage of the discounts they mention.

As far as corvette enthusiast contact, how could it be any better than this forum??

I joined 4-5 years ago, before I knew about the forum. They do have a monthly news letter that was pretty good for questions and answers about your car. They have changed writers for this section and it is not as good as it was. But there were only 6-8 questions per issue covering all years. You get much more from the forum, plus there is the serch option here!

I still maintain my membership. I due use the 5% discount for items that I HAVE to buy from Ecklers. I also use it for travel discounts on occasion.
