Default 355 ci cammed??? Stock chip need help!

Hey well I have a 86 with aluminum heads and the engine is at the machine shop. It is going to get 30 over stock so it should be a 355 and the cam is going to be a little bigger than stock it will also have a compression ratio of 9.7:1 I would like to know how well the car will run with the stock chip? Is it nessesary? every thing else is stock! exept for cut lid and duel exausht with X pipe. I might add a fuel pressure regulater befor I put all back together.

The stock chip will probably due fine, just not optimal. I still have the stock chip in my built up 355 and it runs strong. In spring I will be buring a new chip to get the most out of mine.

Agent, when you say built up is that w/ heads,intake...etc??

Not trying to hijack but I would love to keep the stock chip w/ my soon to be ported TPIS heads and intake. (355 w/ stock cam and 1.7 rr's)

Default specs

Ok so I talked with the builder and he said that the cam specs are .228.50 for the intake .217.50 exhaust and the duration is 113. Its is a comp cam and the pistons are forged probe pistons

Looks like a nice setup. Encouraging that it runs good w/out a new chip/tune. Thanks. Oh yeah, nice ride. I just looked at your pics.

Now back to the originally scheduled program.....

I'm running a similar combination to Agent's with a 218/228 - 110 spread Comp Cam with the stock chip and 24# SVO injectors with other than worthless results. You will be "OK" with 22# injectors and the 113 lobe spread with bumped timing and added fuel pressure until you learn enough to burn your own chip.
