Power window regulator snapped!!!!!
I put my window up and heard a sharp clunk and found it wouldn't go down again. The motor ran fine but no window movement. I pulled the door panel and found that the regulator had snapped the weld where it is attached to the gear part. It's only held on by one spot weld. I sanded the paint off and busted out the MIG welder. I drew a bead around the seam where the parts overlap and now it works great. I greased everything while I was in there and its pretty smooth. I can't believe that is all that holds that thing together. Anyone else ever have that happen?

I had the same thing happen to me about a month ago, I didn't have a welder either, so I got a local mechanic shop to do it for me, $5. Best $5 I ever spent. The only draw back was about 15 hours trying to get the dang window adjusted after taking all the bolts loose. If I didn't know better I'd think the darn thing never lined up with the seal to begin with. It's good to know that some things can still be fixed.

The only draw back was about 15 hours trying to get the dang window adjusted after taking all the bolts loose. If I didn't know better I'd think the darn thing never lined up with the seal to begin with. It's good to know that some things can still be fixed.
I figure eventually the driver's side will go too, I should just weld it now before I get stuck in the rain with it.
