I have a GTech-Pro and it works ALL of the time. If someone has one that does not work after reading the manual I suggest that they send it back!
I had my car serviced and it did not feel like it was as fast as before but it was running fine otherwise. So I took it out today with the GTech. I got 0-60 in 6.39 and 6.42 sec. That's way off what it was doing in even warmer weather.
So I got home all upset thinking it's Friday night and the garage will not be open til Tuesday. I looked under the hood and right there the throttle cable was off of the half moon throttle thing. I put it back on and went out for another test. It was nice cool weather and because I wanted consistant numbers I left the ASR on. You can see results in my updated signature.
So to me the GTech is a lot of fun. I live too far from a "track" and I just don't have the inclination to go thru all that trouble dealing with the routine there. I can do a GTech test and be back home in 15 minutes.
All I bother with on it is the 0-60 time. I may do a 1/4 mile soon to get new numbers but there is no hurry.
Some people like them, some people hate them. I like mine, but you have to have it perfectly centered and know your car's weight. When I used mine at the track, it gave me the exact same ET. When I used the HP function, it was off by 1/2 a HP according to what the dynojet said the same day. If you "estimate" your weight, its garbage in, garbage out.
