Default Tpis headers y-pipe and egr question

I got a used set of headers from ebay but without the y-pipe.

Do i have to buy the y-pipe from tpis or is it possible to line up and use adapters from 3inch to 2 1/4? original y-pipe ?

only asking this question because i am thinking of buying a true dual 3 inch system ,but not right now and i have huge shipping costs for large stuff.

If i plug the EGR pipe and disable it in chip ,is that going to be bad for NOx levels ?

Do i have to use a heated O2 sensor ?

Never ever had any headers before that why i ask alot of questions.

You'd probably be able to fabricate something, but the easiest match for the TPIS headers is probably the TPIS Y pipe (which in my case, required some "massaging" to have everything line up properly, so who knows what would actually be easier).

Don't know about EGR or NOx levels - my stuff is all gone and there is no emissions testing in my county for my '87.

You would need a heated O2 sensor(s)? if it is not getting hot enough to enable closed loop operation. In my case, I needed one since the ECM was not going into closed loop.

Just go to your local exhaust shop and have them run you true duals. If you run moderately restrictive cats and a set of magnaflow or borla mufflers you will probably be ok on the sniffer. Why spend the money to fab something up now and then fab it up again later. Just get test pipes put in for now that are the length flange to flange of what you want to put in later and run straights until it's time to get sniffed. Then back to test pipes after the sniff. JMO Whole system with mufflers and test pipes fabed will probably run you $240. Not counting your heated O2s that you will need.

(I think all this tree hugg'n crap is going OVERBOARD. It's the hippies that are getting my brothers killed in iraq "sorry unrelated")

Don't know about TPIS, but my hedman elites lined up great with the stock Y. You may get lucky, worst case would be a little fab work.
