Default Gaining 2" or SOL?

Alright, I just found the first flaw in my plan for road racing a C4. Being 6'4" does not allow enough room for a helmet.

So, the question is do aftermarket "racing buckets" installed in a C4 drop the driver by a couple inches? Or is there a roof panel replacement that bumps up for helmets?

Any other suggestions? If I can't solve it, I gotta sell it.

How about taking the seat tracks out and mounting the seat right to the floor.

yep thats where i modify, iam the opposite of u, at 5'4" barely see the rd, so i installed some spacer's where the bolt goes and jack up manually, and also did installed a extra layer of foam (hard foam) bottom seat.

U might do the opposite what i did, take off the bottom seat foam and install a thin hard foam layer and trim some metal where it seats on the floor, this will give u atleast 1 1/2 - 2" more room, also do not use hard roof but instead go with clear roof that will give another 1" head room. Hope this helps.

With a racing seat you should have no problem getting the additional clearance you need. I'd get (or make) an aluminum one and put it right on the floor if need be. I know what you mean, I'm only 5'10" and with my helmet on it's only a scant fraction of an inch of touching the roof panel.

I'm 6'3" and do OK. I'd really like some A4 seats with shorter brackets. Here is a thread about changing the seat brackets:
