The diaphram in the Lumbar Support Pump deteriorated. I have been unable to locate a replacement diaphram. I have been attempting to make a replacement diaphram. Does anyone know where a replacement diaphram can be purchased or what would be a suitable material to make a new diaphram from.
I replaced both of mine, one with a rubber glove and the other with an old tire bicycle tire tube. The tire tube was too thick, the rubber glove seems to work better. I used the wifes old kitchen gloves, not those thin blue ones they sell for mechanics.
Here is an idea: if you go to a Hospital, or try it with a Veterinary clinic.
A lot of times patients are conected to an IV line, that is for passing fluids.
This fluids come in glass bottles or plastic bottles.
The plastic ones come in two varieties, one is like a more rigid one, something like a softdrink would be in.
But the other one is made from some kind of more elastic plastic, maybe PVC, I am not sure. But this little "bags" can withstand a lot of pressure.
I have used them for a lot of different projects and they resist a lot. Much more than latex gloves because they do not degrade easily.
This bags with fluid come in different capacities, the most comon are 1 liter ( 1000 mililiters), 1/2 liter ( 500ml) and 1/4 liter ( 250ml).
Hope this works for you and you can get your hands on some empty bags.
Try to get one first with a Vet, or maybe a Paramedic.
Something else that migh work well is the bag from a re-breather type oxygen mask. Just ask a Parameter or FireFighter for one, or maybe your local pharmacy. These bags are very durable and about the right size.
