Antenna replacement questions
On my '94, the antenna would not come all the way down, so I bought a new mask and found the tech tip and went to work.
I got the unit loose, but when I seperated the top half from the bottom half, one of the springs dislodged. While try to press it back into place it flew off and I can not find it.
So I ordered a new antenna unit today, but I have a couple of questions.
1. The two wires that attach to the top of the unit are short and I would like to extend them so that I can attach them while the unit is hanging lower to the floor. What connectors and gauge of wire do I use to do this?
2. The wire that runs from the radio to the antenna is not detachable from the antenna that I have now. How is this going to work?

The antenna cable is supposed to detach in the rear hatch area. Do you have all the trim pieces removed? The cable runs under the foam.
The wires on the unit itself I believe are ground wires. It's difficult, but easier to do once the unit has been mounted.
I tied a string to the cable and wires so when you push the rubber plug through th ebody, it will be easier to retrieve to replace the new one.
