I'm looking for info on replacement exhaust valves for my 113 heads. I don't need "severe duty" valves, just decent replacements. I've been looking at mid priced ones from Manley (Street Flo series), Ferrea (5000 series), and Elgin high performance series. All are forged one piece stainless steel, chrome stems, and hardened tips. The Manley and Ferrea units are about the same price. The Elgin ones are less expensive, but have the same material specs. I have always subscribed to the "you get what you pay for" motto, but the Elgin valves seem to be the same for less money. I just wonder why most of the high performance retailers don't carry the Elgin valves. I really don't know anything about Elgin other than what I read on their web site. They manufacture alot of automotive parts and are a O.E.M. supplier to the US auto industry. Still, I'm a little hesitant about Elgin. Anyone have any experience with them?
Have used Ferrea valves before on other engines with no issues. We have build other engines and sold many sets of Si Valves, just to throw one more into the mix for you.
