Default Injector question...need info

I have a stock 86E with leaking injectors. Would a set of 19# mustang injectors work? If not what would be the best route to go. My reason for asking is that I believe the mustang injectors are rated at a lower PSI than my stock 22# injectors, right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you know the pressure at which your stock injectors and the Ford injectors are rated their respecitve flow rates can be calculated for your stock fuel pressure. Of course you would likely need and AFPR to trim fuel flow with new injectors.

I put the ford/bosch 22 lbs injectors in. The company stated these are the specified replacements. Working fine in my 90.

Boisedarc: Changing the injectors is relatively easy (you can do this without pulling the runners).....but reinstalling new injectors of a different flow rate will add to your list of problems with the car. The ECM is programmed for you engine with some assumptions. One of these assumptions is that you have the designed flow rate for fuel delivery. Consider sending your injectors at Cruzin Performance and see if they can be serviced/cleaned. Rich Jensen will examine the injectors and tell you if they can be saved. Doing this will save you $$$ and future loss of hair

You could use them if you put in an adjustable regulator and bumped it up to 44psi or so...

But I'd follow Vinnie's advice, or just send yours off to cruzinperformance.com to get refurbed for about $100. They'll come back flow tested and functioning good as new.

I should have given your Rich's email address in the note above. Here it is if you do not already have it: rich@cruzinperformance.com
Let us know how this project ends up.

I have a Word doc procedure on removing the injectors without pulling the runners. If you want a copy of the Word doc send me your email address in either a PM or email.
