Take a look and get back to us. I'm guessing you will end up replacing nearly every component in the front suspension with that many miles and neglect by the previous owner. It's not that expensive if you do it all yourself.

Entire bushing kit from Energy Suspension is about $180 from summit.

Use http://www.suspension.com to find the part numbers for your sway bar bushings (24mm or 25mm) and whatever shock bushings they have, neither are in the $180 kit. I wouldn't order from them though, use Summit.com.

That and a little marine grade grease, and some elbow grease and your problem is solved.

Plan on needing new upper and lower balljoints (~$80 each) from www.rockauto.com, and new tie-rod ends for the steering, and new shocks, and bearings. Use Moog or a good USA brand for ball joints/tierods, the offshore stuff is garbage, won't last, and sometimes won't even fit.

I had to replaced all this on my '85 and only have 85,000 miles on it. After you do all that, get a grease gun and grease the zerk fittings on all the balljoints and tie rod ends once per year.

Except I would buy an $80 hydraulic press from Harbor Freight to do the bushings and press in/out the lower ball joint. I decided the vice/ball joint c-press method was a waste of my time and bought this:

In less than 30 minutes I had the old stuff pressed out and the new stuff pressed in, like this:

Hmmmmm...I fail to see anything condescending, narcissistic, or ego-boosting in that post.
Coach wants to know the extent of the OP's experience, offers some suggestions for describing symptoms, and asked for more information.
Where's the problem...?

He said it a lot nicer than some of us would have.....

Thanks. I assembled it on the bench to show my wife how a Vette suspension/steering assembly works. She said, "oh that's nice, when will you have it all back together?"
