Jay, it sounds like the dreaded "broken ribbon". Take off your door panel and shine a small flashlight into the door. Look for a white "ribbon" that runs on a track. When my ribbon broke I found the ribbon at the bottom of the door panel. I then had to take the door apart and get a new ribbon from Corvette Central (someone said that a late model Chrysler ribbon will fit too). I pulled up the glass and kept it in place with a shim shingle. I then put the ribbon in and that fixed the problem. It's not hard, just time consuming in removing all the screws and bolts on the door. Good luck. :yesnod:
Check to make sure you don't have any loose bolts. Happened to me that the window stopped the same time the passenger door closing handle came loose. Turns out the bolt for the handle is the ground for the motor in a 92.
92TripleBlack  :smash:
I had the same problem....was the ribbon...its like what $25.00....the labor is the suck part.......if you do take it apart......this is if you have not done it before.....you have to drill out some pop rivots to put new one on....remember exactly how the rivot mount goes....mounted on left or right side of track.....if you do this wrong you can scratch the bejesus out of your window...hope it helps......oh and buy some lith grease...and sandpaper....my track was a tad rusty...thats why the ribbon broke on mine...
