Edelbrock LT4 intake pics
Are there any advantages of the Edelbrock LT4 intake as opposed to the factory LT4 intake, other than the fact that it's a little taller, and supposed to help generate a little more torque? I guess what I'm asking is, is it worth the money to replace the factory intake on, let's say my '96 LT4, with the Edelbrock version? Thanks in advance!
Factory GM LT4 Intake is no longer availiable new and used ones are getting more difficult to source as time passes.
There is little to no performance advantage. Once both the GM LT4 and the Edelbrock were ported there would be no difference.
If you already have a GM LT4 Intake your better off spending the money to have it ported by someone who knows what they are doing.
If you need a new LT4 Intake the Edelbrock is a good way to get one.
If you really want to change the powerband then your going to have to build a shetmetal intake or convert a single plane and cam the motor accordingly.

The real advantage is that you can actually put your hands on one.

That's what I was starting to figure, that there's no real difference, and that was a way for someone to get an LT4 intake
So that's what I'm going to do, just have someone port the intake. Someone else on another thread mentioned Lloyd Elliot as someone that knows what their doing with these intakes. Anyone else know him? As for the sheetmetal intake or converting to a single plane, it's not really the look I want, or where I want to go with this car, but thanks for mentioning those options.
