Default C4 Brake mounting question

I have a stupid question - not having taken it apart, I don't know how to put it together:
I'm installing the HD brakes on the front end of a 1996 vette.
I can't figure out how the caliper mounts to the mounting bracket. Do you put the new pads in and then put caliper in the bracket then put on the rotor and bolt up? When does the pin go in?

thanks

Assemble the caliper completely...mount the rotor...then the caliper to its mount. Might help if you temp bolt the rotor to the hub. You wouldn't be able to mount the rotor after mounting the caliper.

The caliper is held onto the brackets via the pads and a retaining pin. The caliper itself doesn't actually bolt to anything.
Install the rotor and bracket as mentioned above. Install the pads in the calipers (make sure the end of the pads with the springs is facing down. Install the caliper top-end first by putting the tabs of the pads into the caliper bracket grove. Then rotate the caliper down down into the bracket. The spring clips will compress into the bracket. Insert the pin into the groove while holding the caliper in place. Install the washer and retainer clip on to the pin and you're done.
