I'm one click (Jegs online) away from buying a march under drive pulley set, but I needed to here from some of you guys if under drives pulleys are worth the money. I do some bracket racing on the weekend and thought I could pick up 1 or 2 tenths in the 1/8 mile by adding the pulleys. Cold Air Intake and SLP runners are also on the "to buy list". So are the pulleys worth buying?

I believe they are. Buy the three piece set. I would also check out the March web site directly. You will get better information on which set you need and might even save some money.

Yes. I have the March 3 piece as well. I would have picked up a tenth or so, but I left the car in second gear by accident. Still picked up a new record 60' time, and tied for my best e.t.. MPH was down by about 3, so I would have gotten a new best e.t. if I would have selected Drive.
I have the March 3 pc. set with the underdrive alternator pulley that is intended for use with the stock belt.
I think its worth it, there seemed to be a seat of the pants improvement right after the installation.
With this set up, I do need 850-900 rpm for the alternator to provide any kind of charge, or the battery voltage begins to get pulled down under 12.6 V. I run an 850 rpm idle speed in my chip, mainly for this reason.
Also, it seams that I go through alternators rather frequently now, maybe 1 every 3 years or so. I do get tired of swapping the pulley everytime.
The 2 pc. may be a better solution for an auto trans car or if you wish to retain a stock idle rpm for any reason.
If you go with the 3 pc. you will always have the option to run either alt pulley, but you will need to get a shorter belt also.
I guess its a question of paying for the extra pulley or an extra belt, or both.
Hmmmm, I just took a pair of underdrive pulley's (waterpump, and crank) off of my 88. I didn't know they were there. But I never could get belts etc, to fit right. They are nicely machined pieces. I'm not sure rather to sell them or not. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...t=Steel+Breeze

Charging does not seem to be a problem even with the cam install. If you look at the ASP web site they tell you when the alternator will start to kick in and hell who just to keeps theirs running at idle. GO FOR IT!!
GOOD LUCK wro87
