I have a 93 6 spd, with 83,000 miles, shifts fine, runs good, just makes a annoying consistant chirping noise only in 1,2,3 gear when on the pedal, only at wot, other then that its good, what could be that noise? then when I put it in neutral it goes away?
I have that symptom on a 1990 that started after the transmission was replaced. I didn't change any of the clutch components because that had been done a few hundred miles earlier. I speculate that it could be the self lubricating pilot bushing. In the old days a dab of grease would be put on tip of the pilot shaft. Basically I am ignoring the sound.
well I wasnt too sure it was the tranny, but the symptons were pointing too it. But my tranny is running good, all gears are good, clutch feels good, so I can I make the noise stop?
At one time I had a chirping sound (not tires) that happened when I gave it gas. The problem was hard to find but it turned out to be a u joint in the right rear half shaft. The noise would occur without touching the clutch.
