shifter boot, replace stapples ?
On my 85 i am replacing the shifter boot. The leather boot is connected to the shift rod with a plastic ****. The leather boot goes over the plastic ****, and from the factory was stapled on on VERY TINY STAPLES.
If you are with me here....
I have a stple gun but thoos are WAY to BIG..
What did you do?
Im tossing the idea of going to like a shoe maker to see if they have that kinda staple.
Hammer the old ones back on..
Glue it on, probably not.
Tack it on with a tiny nail.
Leave nothing on and see if it works??

Did you boot stay up ? or fall down aswell ?
As far as the small metal staples. When i took the old boot off they were still there. I pulled them all out and have them all still.
maybee some kinda material or shoe making shop may have something.

I guess no one has any good advise for this one.
I wont ask if they glued the boot to the metal plate that secures it, or if they just wedged it under there and screwed it down......
