Looks like I'm going to be installing an intercooler on my ride (I do actually want to bring the boost down from 10 to around 8 psi). I still want to keep my Blowerworks alky injection (Gen III for L-98), but I don't believe the intercooler piping is going to have a good mounting location (angled somewhat vertical in relation to the TB). Anyone know if they (meaning anyone) make mounting plates for the plenum to TB interface for stuff like this?
I have a polished ATI I.C. That I never used.
This was designed for a corvette and has a large oval snorkel mount allready so it is easy to hook-up to the TB.
It is currently set-up for a pass. side blower but could be easly fabed to be a driver side. You could have a bung welded in to it for the water alki set up you want to retain.
This IC is probably the easiest addition to you car. All ducting will go over the top of the radiator so you shouldn't need to pull the entire front of your car apart to add it.
Hey BB, thanks. I would be all over that if I hadn't already agreed to purchase the setup in the For Sale section. My concern with welding in a bung is the angle of dispersement relative to the TB.
The spray nozzels are stamped 45 deg for discharge angle. However, I have pulled my ducting apart and checked the dispersion pattern sveral times. Mine sprays out like a mist.
Include turbulance in air flow, and distribution should be should be fairly
ballanced at most angles. Top or bottom mount should be good. I would just avoid pointing the nozzel directly twards one or the other TB Butterflies.
