Default ECM Replacement problem

I have decided to replace my ECM on my driven-daily 92 LT1 convertible (the only way to fly). My nany is pretty much a stocker, but I am in Wiscnsin until next spring so during the winter idle time a few things are going on it (and in it).
I got a rebuilt from MidAmerica and, being naturally inept, took it to my master mechanic. He called me that afternoon and said the thing was no good - it had had several pins bent down, so he straightened them, and after installation the car wouldn't run under 2500 rpm and the check engine light stayed on. He could not get communicate with the diagnostic center, either. So the old one went back in. The car runs well, but I a nervous as it is the stock (original) unit.
I seem to remember reading somewhere thst the 92s did have some pins that were supposed to be bent, Anybody know of this? If so, which ones? I will try an install myself.
Also, I am putting in Accel injectors this weekend -- any inputs on this? I'm doing this myself, trying to remember which end of the wrench makes the best hammer.
Looking forward -- tommorow afternoon the rain is supposed to stop and the top is going down!

your stock ecm shouldnt really be replaced unless there is a problem. no real need to. evidently either the mechanic messed up the ecm installing it or mid america sent you a damaged one. call em up and let em know.
