Started noticing my auto trans is 'missing' it's 1-2 shift when cold under WOT. By missing I mean it's hitting the rev limiter and I have to let off the gas for it to shift. Appears to be ok when warmed up. Fluid level is good and I changed the filter and fluid last year. Noticed last year when I went out for a track day the trans temp got really high 260F and it started slipping in 3rd gear. This was after 45min of beating on it so I was not too worried. Is this trans on it's way out? Car has 100k and has never been driven gently. Shifts nice and smooth and quick. Anything I should try or just start saving.

I would change the fluid again. My car did something similar, I would jump on it and it would downshift and grab first gear and then smack the limiter. I changed the fluid and all is good. The fluid that was in it looked o.k. to me but I guess it wasn't. I hope that's all it is on your car as well.

Thanks....I'll give that a shot. Just added some of the Lucus trans stuff and it shifts even better. I'll see if it misses again this morning.
